Question: Teaching yourself guitar!?
I really want to learn guitar as a hobby and something to do other than stare at the computer all day!.

What I'm wondering is, how hard is it to teach yourself guitar if you have no music experience what so ever other than elementary recorder playing (hahahaha)!?

I'm also planning to start myself out with an acoustic guitar if that helps any!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

guitar is much better choice! but dont bash the computer, once you get the hang of the guitar basics youll be on there incessantly looking up tabs to learn! !.!.!.!.an elemetary school recorder is all the experience i had before i picked up my axe and i taught myself also on an acoustic! for a beginner id definitely start out on an acoustic or a classical!. to be honest the classical is easier on your fingertips but this is the time you want to be building up the callouses!. the guitar is an incredibly complex instrument but if you have the time and the passion theres nothing you cant do! you should get stuff from guitar center, they have all kinds of lesson books and different genres too!. you could also go to best buy if that's closer to your house!. If you don't want to buy anything then go to youtube because a lot of people post guitar lessons on there, one more thing if you're not having fun, you should have friends come over to help you learn too, if any of them know how to play! good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lessons at the local music store will work wonders for you!. They'll teach you music theory and how to play the specific songs you'd like to learn!.
