depending on the size of your band you could make a set thats shaped like something from the movie!.
(for example: im a member of the university of arkansas razorback band, and a part of one of our second show this season had phantom in it!. we opened that section with a set in the shape of the chandelier, and the tubas were the candles!.

also we did a phantom show in 2005 and we all had the white half-masks on!. it was a really good effect!.

you could definitely throw some horn flashes in there and some visual effects with the instruments (ripples, etc) in certain parts!.

the masquerade section was a memorable one for me, and very enoyable, so maybe you could have the band do a little dance like they do and have certian sections play and certian sections dance, then switch or something(woodwinds, then brass)

just a few ideas!! hope the show turns out great!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The chandelier scene is definitely a must!.

The staircase during "Masquerade" is also a really big memory for most people!.!.!.so definitely something with that!.

also, the cymbal-crashing monkey is a pretty big part, so tying that in as well as you can would be a good idea, too!. :)

Hope this helps! I'm the actor, not the techie, so I don't know much about this stuff!. But I try! :) Www@QuestionHome@Com

Skulls and pillars would be good, if you can find a way to do it!. It's a pretty creepy musical!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
