Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
If you have to ask whether to play the Brahms or Tchaikovsky concerto first, you are probably not ready to tackle either one yet!. The Tchaikovsky is definitely more challenging, but they are both true virtuoso works!.

Have you done any Bach, Vivaldi, Vieutemps, Wieniawski or Mozart!?

If not, there's where you need to start!. Once you've mastered Mozart Violin Concerto No!. 5, K 219, you can move on to the Mendelssohn, then Beethoven and, finally, if your teacher approves, the Brahms!.

Why not look into some of the shorter pieces for solo violin like the Saint Sa?ns Rondo Capriccioso!. While you're at it, have a look at his violin concertos as well!.
