But do you ever see people play the acoustic w/o singing!? Does it just defeat the purpose!? I plan on getting an acoustic, but I can't sing!. Would it be not as impressive to play for people if I didnt sing with it!? Yes, "The Yes Album" and "Fragile"--Steve Howe solo tracks Led Zeppelin, first album--Jimmy Page on "White Summer"--and also his sound-alike when it was The Yardbirds, "Black Mountain Side" on their "Little Games" album!. Dave Matthews Band does some instrumentals--of course Dave's acoustic is supplemented by all those other virtuosos!. And then there are the classic guitarists, like Parkening and Segovia--and the flamenco artists, like Manitas de Plata!. And country-western's Chet Atkins!. The other solution is that you find a singer who can't play guitar and booyah, a duet! The important thing isn't whether there's singing or how many people are needed to do all the parts--the important thing is whether the sound is right!.Www@QuestionHome@Com If you want to play the acoustic guitar then play the acoustic guitar!. A few things might come from it!. You may meet or know someone with a great voice who will sing alongside you'r acoustic guitar, or maybe overtime you'll develop a better voice/ear for pitch and you'll be able to sing decently yourself!. It really depends what you want the guitar for!. If you want it just to learn how to play the guitar then get it!. From what I can tell I would suggest you pick one up, because if you get a good one it will last you a lifetime and always be there when you need it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I think it would still be impressive!. You could always find a singer and write songs together and make it worth your while!.
