Question: Help! I can't decide between two guitars!!?
So I've been looking at guitars for awhile, and I've managed to cut it down to just two!. The thing is, I can't decide!. They are both barely within my budget, anything more and I absolutely can't afford it!.

One is a Takamine D-series, TED21SCN!. It's a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides, and it has a pretty good preamp in it!. Tried it, and it sounds awesome both plugged and unplugged!. It's the more expensive of the two, and it's selling for 469$, without accessories, meaning I'll have to pay around 20$ for a gig bag to go with it at least!.

The other is a J&D, a Chinese brand!. Keep in mind however, that the Takamine is also made in China!. It's also an electric-acoustic, but it has no preamp!. Obviously the Takamine sounds better plugged, but this one probably wins out slightly when it's unplugged!. It's also a solid top, and it's going for 449$, WITH accessories such as a bag, tuner and a stand!.

I don't know which one to get!. For some reason I'm attracted to the Takamine, but it's going to cost me more, and also I don't play with an amp every week, so it's not like I'll be using it plugged in too often!. I can't decide!

p!.s: Sorry to those who answered the last one, I typed the Takamine price wrongly, so you thought it was cheaper!. It is isn't, if it was I'd snap it up!. It's going to cost me at least 40$ more because I also need that gig bag at the very least!.

Thanks =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

close your eyes, and hear each one carefully, dont let the brand fooled you!. if the J&D's better, its better!. or close your eyes and ask the salesperson to play each one, then you choose!.

i kinda like J&D thou!. its quite good!. especially the electric!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd go for the Takamine, as being a better-known make, but where are you buying it from!? If you go to your local music shop, will they not do some sort of deal!? My local shop here in Dorset, UK always gives a free gig bag!.

Hope this helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com

go with the Takamine D-series, TED21SCN!. the accesories are not worth it!. id go with sound quality over accesories any day if its hard to decide which ones better unplugged, go with the one that sounds better plugged!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Takamine D-series, TED21SCN

It sounds waaay more awesome!.
I looked it up and it seriously looks awesome!.

Get that one!.
I would even though it'll cost a little bit more!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd probably go for the Takamine, simply because it's a more well known name, and would be easier to sell if you wanted to someday!.

That said, what I'd really do is watch your local craigslist or classified ads for used guitars for sale!. You could get a great deal on the same guitar or a better one for probably half the price of buying new! Then if you want to get a better one someday, you put it back on craigslist and don't lose anything!. I've bought great used guitars that way!. In this economy, there will be fantastic deals out there!.

Regarding gig bags!. I wouldn't waste my money on them!. Wait til you can get a hard case, even if it's a cheap fiberboard one!.!. they're better at protecting your guitar than any gig bag!. All the guitars I've bought used came with one!.
