Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Clarinets are more of 'concert band' instruments!. They are used in marching band, because I play one, and next year in high school I have to be in marching band!. A marching instrument is more like a trumpet, but a clarinet works fine!. Some songs have upper parts that first clarinet and flute covers, so they are needed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com of course they are! i play clarinet in marching band!! but you wouldn't want ot use a wooden clarinet for marching band, because of the chance of them getting rained on!. so i use a plastic clarinet for marching band, and a wooden one for concerts!. here are a few instruments that most marching bands wouldn't use: -oboes -french horns -contra bass clarinets -tenor saxes(some bands use these!.!.!.!.!.!.but it would seem difficult) -bassoons and there are some others that i can't think of right now! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com Clarinets aren't just marching instruments!.
