Question: Don Giovanni (the opera)!?
I suspect getting an answer for this will be almost impossible!. However I've seen several versions of Don Giovanni!. Although I'm aware there was a Prague version and a Viennese version I've noticed something!.
In some versions Leperello is spared in the Commendatore scene while Don Giovanni is dragged into Hell whereas another version shows Leperallo being taken to Hell along with his Master!.
Is this just artistic license or one of the two versions!? The version I saw on stage had Leperello being spared!.
Does anyone have an answer for this!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
In the original version, Don Giovanni is dragged down to Hell, but Leperello escapes and is found cowering under a table in the last act!. Giovanni remains in Hell, facing the torment he so richly deserves, as the chorus sings: "So ends he who evil does"
There have been several different versions of Don Giovani and there may have been some artistic license taken!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
