Question: Tips for playing the piano!?
I'm currently teaching myself to play the piano!. So far, everything has been easy, thanks to my ability to read music!. I know the most difficult aspect of learning to play the piano is carrying two different rhythms with both of your hands at the same time!. I can memorize both the bass and treble staffs, and play them seperately!. However, I find myself at a dead end when I attempt to put them together!. I understand that mastering this will only come through practice, practice, practice, but are there any "tricks" to making this part easier!? Any certain techniques!? Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try the previously mentioned tip, but start with something simple!. Try an easy song that you know in your head already so that you know what it's supposed to sound like!.
Something else you can try is playing the bass chords and holding them while you play the melody on the right hand (instead of playing all the in-betweens) and gradually work your way up to changing the chords on your left hand more often!.
Yet another thing to try, just play SOMEthing!. Take a break from reading the music and put both your hands to work at the same time!. make up an easy, repeating melody with your right hand and add some notes on the left a little at a time!. It doesn't have to make sense at first, just the act of getting your hands to play in sync will help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is no "technique" that will help you do this!. The only thing that can help you (as you said) is continual practice!. However, I think if you do it very slowly, you will be able to get it!. Maybe try it with much more simpler songs first!. Don't forget to keep beat!. Keeping the beat can help you a lot with understanding the piece of music and putting it together, as notes are with the beat!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

practice it really slowly!. and practice the counts of each measure and use a metranome!. do it slow until you get it!. do a measure over and over if you must!. im thirteen and thats how i practice, i teach myself too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
