I really want to learn to play the violin, but i don't know anything about it and i don't know anyone personally that plays!. It is kinda hard to buy one when you don't know what to look for!. I don't want to get ripped off, so i need some help!. What is a reasonable price range for a full size violin and what should i look for in one as a first time buyer!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

I wouldn't advise you to rent because that wastes a lot of money, unless you think there's a real possibility of quitting in the first few months!. A violin outfit includes a violin, case, bow, and sometimes rosin!. Make sure the bow has real horse hair and not nylon, etc!. Don't get a violin from a local music store unless it's a violin specialty shop!. They usually overprice!. also, don't get a violin from the internet because they usually overprice, except in your case because you're probably looking for a cheap instrument suitable for a beginner ($100-$300) so that's ok!.
