Question: Hitting high notes an an (Contr) Alto !?
Hey,
Im a pretty low alto!. Next year I'm having some musical theatre classes and I would love to know how to hit some pretty high notes ( manly because allot of my fave musical songs are for sops - Wicked, Elphaba's songs)!. I have a rather strong chest voice, though i go into myhead voicee for an "A" on the space in the treble stave, though i have to useallott of volume and support to hti a "G"!. I would love any advice, even how to belt WELL!. thanx!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You have 3 "voices!." chest , throat, head tone!. All 3 take some training to use correctly!. If you are primarily singing using your chest tone you are primarily singing at the bottom of your range!. You have a lot more above those notes!. Using a lot of force and singing very loud to hit high notes is not the right way to do it!. Unfortunately I can't give you voice lessons over the internet!. I suggest you find a local voice coach and learn how to properly form the vowels, support the tone , learn about dropping ending consonants, and other tricks that make singing high and well!. If you force a note and sing loud your pitch will go flat and it's not a particularly pretty sound!. Singing improperly can also damage your vocal folds, causing nodules, and possibly totally ruining your singing voice!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
