Question: Cheap soprano saxophones!?
Has anyone out there had any good results with those cheap soprano saxes, like Cecilio or Belmonte!? I have good instruments already (alto, tenor) but wouldn't mind paying around $200!.00 for a soprano to play for my own entertainment!. From what I read the cheap ones don't sound bad but they're badly built: the keys bend or they dent easily!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Cheap is such an overused word!.!.!. :)
The thing is with cheap ones is that some of them, but not all, are MISOs (Musical Instrument Shaped Objects)!. Meaning that they aren't even really instruments but rather "toys"!. However, that being said, there are also "modest priced" ones that are made in some of the same factories as the higher price, so-called better quality ones!. So!.!.!.so some research on sites like "Sax on the Web" and Sax Gourmet and see what they say about certain names!.!.!. but keeping in mind that you're talking something to sort of "play" with!.!.!.I'd go for it!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think you'll find anything around the $200 price range!. But if you are willing to spend $329, you can get a pretty decent soprano sax from Woodwind Brasswind!. I have a Barrington (WWBW's store brand) soprano, and it plays very well!. The only problem I had was the linkages for the register key didn't meet-up correctly on one of the necks (it comes with a straight and curved neck)!. But that was easily fixed by a little gentle nudging!.

See the links below!. Especially read the users' reviews!. WWBW has an excellent return policy, so it is much safer than buying from a pawn shop or Ebay!.

Look at a pawn shop or music shop!. Maybe they will have something there for you!. That is what I would do or try eBay!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
