I have to write some music for a trumpet player of AVERAGE / LOW ABILITY!.

What are the highest and lowest notes I should use that she will be able to play!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The trumpet range extends from the (written) F# below middle C, to the C above the treble clef staff!.

An average trumpet player should be able to play from the F# below middle C to the G above the treble clef without too much trouble!. The rest of the range (from the G to the C above the treble clef) will require more control!. Generally, composers should avoid too many notes from the A or Bb above the treble clef, to the C, even for professionals!. also avoid starting on the highest notes, make sure you work your way up to them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
