Question: How in the world does the phantom of the opera dissapear at the end of the mucial!?
i went to the phantom of the opera a week ago and at the end he covers himself with a black cape while sitting in a chair!. the cape keeps the shape of him sitting in the chair!.!.!. but then a girl comes and rips off the cape and he is gone!!! all that is left is his mask! how does he do this!?!?

ps- a bunch of people say it is a trap door at the bottom of the chair but how does the cape retain the shape of a guy sitting in the chair!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've seen a trick like this before

it is a trap door, but the real secret is in the chair!. behind the chair is a small round (head-like shape) object!. it is attached to the chair from the back and can be pulled forward!.

when he covers himself with the cape, he goes down a trap door!. but before he leaves, he moves the object forward!. this gives the illusion that he is still there!.
When the girl rips off the cape, she just simply moves the object down behind the chair (and out of the audiences sight)

and!.!.!.TADAAAAAH he is gone!Www@QuestionHome@Com

He went through a trap door or walked off!. There was a cloud of smoke that was present!.The very last thought maybe he was good!. lolWww@QuestionHome@Com

MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, it was the trap door!. the reason it appeared his shape stayed is because of the material in the cape and the chair was big enough so it stayed that way!. I'm sorry, im not explaining it very well!. I like the second answer!. magic!.!.!.lol!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
