Holding a rubber/bouncy ball in the palm of your hand so you can train your hand to move right is really, really helpful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are plenty of books that explain the difference between finger vibrato and arm vibrato, but from experience it's important to relax the hand completely; this will provide an easier, faster way to produce a good vibrato that's consistent without strain!.

If you want to improve your vibrato, you should do a few shakes per each bow!. For example, start of with a bow to one whole note in common time, and vibrato for every eighth note!. Then repeat by bowing for one whole note, but do each vibrato for every sixteenth note!. Then, build up from there, putting more vibrato movements for every bow!. If you start off slow at first, you can monitor your movements and see where you're making mistakes, and slowly accelerate and build up a steady vibrato at a high speed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Practice slow scales or pieces with long notes!. Use your vibrato as much as possible!. Practice several times a day for 15 minutes instead of once for an hour!.
