Question: Line 6 Toneport Recording!?

I want to buy a Line 6 Toneport UX1, but I need to know if it includes a fully functional recording software!. I just need to do simple recordings for guitar and vocals!. Can I just use a standard recording software instead of the Ableton Lite it comes with!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

If it works with Ableton Lite it should work with just about anything!.

My personal favorite program to use is Reaper, link below!. It has an unlimited trial period, but to purchase it is very, very cheap!. It's great for recording!.

Other than that, yes, it should be able to record right out of the box, although I'm sure it will record wav's instead of mp3s!. You'll probably need to use your recording software to save as an mp3 file instead of wav (which they should be able to do no problem)!.

Simple Answer: Yes you can record right out of the box!. Then covert to Mp3!.

More Detail: Abelton Lite is the skeleton of Abelton Live though!. So you don't get some of the filters and features that can help with mixing and mastering!. But that's for more of a polished sound to your recordings!. But you'll be able to record, basic edit, and export to Mp3 with no problem!.

Honestly I'm not a fan of the Tone Port!. The quality on it, is not the best compared to other Audio Interfaces!. Line 6 is more of an effect company than it is recording!. But it will definitely get the job done!. Truth is it's $80, which is probably the cheapest Audio Interface on the market!. So that's the quality you'll receive!.

I'd recommend getting the Tapco Link USB Audio Interface for $150, if you can afford it!. This comes with Tracktion, which is an awesome Recording Software and very very easy to learn!. And Tracktion comes with all the bells and whistles of filters and effects!.

But Abelton Lite can still get the job done!. And the full version of Albeton Live is actually pretty cool!.
