Question: Wicked: Why did they throw Elphaba under the bus!?
Why did the Wizard and Madame Morrible pretty much throw Elphaba under the bus!? Was it because she took the spell book or what!? I still don't understand that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Elphaba refused to join the Wizard, who was a benevolent dictator!. A dictator needs to have everyone united under them, they can't have someone who opposes them!. Elphaba had learned everything the Wizard and Madame Morrible wanted to do with the Flying Monkeys and the truth about him!. She was already disliked by most people because of how she looked, so he simply used that to his advantage!. also, the Grimmerie is extremely powerful so she would have the potential to use it against him!.

Elphaba became the new common enemy of Oz!.
"When I got here, there was discord and discontent, and where I come from the best way to bring people together is to give them a really good enemy!."

Elphaba became that 'really good enemy' along with the Animals!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

basically it was because she knew too much and she had said to him that she didnt think what the wizard was doing was right!. It may also loosely have been to do with the fact that she took the spellbook, although not as much, because they couldn't read it and the only reason they didnt want her to have it was because she was more powerful with it!.

If you mean figuratively throw her under a bus, i haven't a clue what you are talking about!.

:D

hope this helps!

I think it was because Elphaba would not help the wizard put a spell on the monkeys to make them fly!. She cared about animals a lot and did not want the monkeys to be part of the wizards plan to use them as spies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
