Question: My violin peg looks like it's about to break!.!?
So, I haven't played my violin in a while but recently I got the urge to pick it up again!. The thing is, the pegs were not turning that easily!. So I tried using a pliers kind of tool to turn the pegs!. The G, D, and A strings are tuned perfectly but I'm scared of tuning my E string!. When I tried to turn the E string peg, the whole peg wasn't turning but only the end of the peg was turning!.(the part where you put your fingers to turn it) So just tried doing it with my hands and it still only turns by itself and I hear some cracking noises!. Anyone else have this problem!? And if so, what did you do to make it better!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yep, sounds like its broken!.

Take it to a violin shop and have it replaced!.

While you're there, ask them to install fine tuners on your tailpiece, on all 4 strings!. You'll find it much easier to tune your instrument!. Use the pegs to get the strings close to being in tune, then use the fine tuners to get them perfect!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
