I teach guitar to someone whose house smells!. What can I do!?
Each week, I teach this person and wind up smelling like his house afterward!. He has 5 pets and his house, while visually clean, smells absolutely horrendous!. Since it's a nighttime lesson, I wind up going straight home and wind up washing my clothes immediately, just from sitting on their couch for an hour!. I don't want to stop teaching them, because they show a lot of promise!. But I also don't want to bring that smell into my house!. Any suggestions!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is why I stopped doing jobs in people's houses!. A lot of time I just couldn't handle it!. I went into a womans house that smelled so awful, I walked back out and quit my job!. I wasn't rude to the woman, I just explained that I'm sorry, but you know you smell these cats, and I can't handle it!. Told my boss that I can't handle going into disgusting houses, I quit!.
Its a touchy situation, but I would do is just say!.!.!.ya know, the animals are really bothering me (allergies or something) and I was wondering if we can do the lessons at my house!.
I really think if you can't handle it then you should stop the lessons if there's no other way!.
EDIT: I forgot, your house isn't an option because you don't want the smell!. Maybe there's an alternative location, I can't think of a good place off hand though, especially since the weather is getting cold!.

I think it depends on your relationship with the guy!.also,how much you feel he wants to learn!.
If the guy shows talent& enthusiasm,and you get paid,I think you should just learn to put up with this!.After all,in a multi-teaching environment you have to put up with all sorts of hygene-probs!.E!.g!.I caught headlice on on e occasion!.
If this is not your full-time career tho you have the choice to get out of it!.
Plus-sides------having a cold will be an advantage
you are meeting new people & animals,ergo broadening your horizons

tell them to come over by u, or get a room in a building rented to give guitar lessons, or tell that person if u both cud do the lessons outside!. Or teach that person in the park or some spot , if all fails tell the person the truth but in a nice way!.!.!.!.!.hope i helped bro!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stop teaching this person!. I wouldn't go into a stinky house like that, either!. Tell him either he comes to you or you don't teach anymore!. Tell him the house stinks!. Maybe he will do something to clean it up!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
