Question: Is the trumpet hard to learn!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Nope, but with every instrument you can't expect to be amazing within a few weeks!. It'll take a great deal of practice and determination!.

I think there isn't an instrument that's hard to learn if the person sets their mind to it!.

depends, im the brass leader as the french hornist, but the trumpet is alot harder to learn than most other brass instruments!. you have to have ALL of the lip positions because you have to do alot of notes because you lead most of the songs!. you will have long scales, fast playing, and you will have to work your lips up( lip-ups:D) because they will ache a lot after playing it for more than a minute straight or you have a lot of lip movement and cresendo's during a songWww@QuestionHome@Com

No, although it helps to start young and have a natural aptitude for brass instruments (I've noticed that some people just can't position their mouth correctly to make the necessary buzzing noise in the mouthpiece)!.

If you have a local music store that sells instruments, ask to try out a variety of the brass instruments!. If you do decide to purchase a trumpet, try out a few different ones - the clarity can vary with the instrument!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. not really you need to know how to put your lips!. To play you need to know how to buzz with your lips!. The best way you could learn would be:

1) Buy/Rent a trumpet

2) Take just the mouth piece and try to make a buzzing sound with it

3) Put the trupet and mouth piece together

4) Learn how to put your hands
- your (right hand) ring finger, middle finger, and pointer finger go on the keys
-Your pinky finger goes in the little ring in front of the 3 keys
- Your thumb wraps around the first metal part on the right side (first valve)
- Your left hand can do whatever is most comfortable

5) Hold the trumpet at your mouth and try to make a buzzing sound like u did with your mouthpiece!. To start out have no fingers down!. Try to get a low note by loosening your embrochure (the form of your mouth) This note should be a C!. Its the lowest note you can play with no fingers pushing down on the keys!.

6) Now try playing some other notes!.!.!.

hint: Your pointer finger is "1" middle "2" and ring "3" No fingers "Open"

G = 1,3

e = 1,2

f = 1

g = open

to get past the various notes you need to blow harder and make you lips tighter or looser accordingly
