All you need is a chord, an amp, picks, and the guitar itself!. Maybe a strap, too!.

Don't waste your money on pedals, et cetera!. Distortion will only mask your mistakes!. You want to hear how you are really playing!. Once you get pretty good, then you can experiment with toys like pedals!. Spend your money instead on either lessons or instructional books!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most small amps come with distortion, but it all depends on what you want to play!. If you are getting an electric guitar its likely you won't be playing clean all the time, so you should probably get an amp with distortion on it!. Don't worry about getting a distortion pedal (or any pedal) until you learn to play better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You need a tuner, amp, 2 cables one long one short, a tempo beat thing(forgot the name of it) and I recommend a fender squier if you are just learning!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
