Im learning guitar and I need some good methods of practice (specifically for rock and heavy metal), without a teacher!.

I honestly do not know how to solo, everytime I attempt one I jus freeze cos I dont know where to put my fingers when reading tablature

Learn lots of scales, and practice practice practice!. Scales are pretty much the most important thing you need to know if you want to be able to solo!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Get a teacher
you cannot be the best when you teach yourself
Fact, Randy Rhoads is my favorite guitarist of all time, and he would seek out a classical guitar teacher at almost every city he played at, a teacher s your best bet

If you really want to teach yourself, learn a lot of scales
When i write Metal songs i use a lot of Blues and Penatonic scales, and play them though a lot of gain or distortion, sounds extremely brutal Www@QuestionHome@Com
