4/4 or full-size is the generally accepted largest violin, so most people just adjust the way they play as they finish growing to fit on the instrument!. It takes some practice, but even big men do it!.

However, there are some(though not many) violins that are a 9/8 size, which makes them slightly bigger than a full-size!. In my experience, they are few and far between and not many people play on them, but they do exist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. Full size is as big as a violin gets!.

I've never heard of anyone being "too big" for their violin!. I know several large men with big, beefy hands who nonetheless manage to play fiddle quite well, so it can be done with practice!.

If you would rather play a larger instrument, consider taking up viola instead!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi Som

There is a person in Canada that makes oversize violin as one may call it!. He is a 300 pound person who got fed up and decided to make violins for big people!.
They are beautiful and here is a link and email!.

Hope this helps you out!.

No, the 4/4 (full size) is the biggest size!. You can't get too big for it; being bigger just means you can play octaves and even 10th's easier, which is an advantage!Www@QuestionHome@Com
