Question: Do violins have certain frets!?
I was wondering because I am totally confused about how the violin functions!. I play the guitar, and I found out they are similar, but I'm not sure what the violins has!. No, I'm not stupid, just curious about how it works!.

Just like a fretted bass, once you play a fretless bass, the hand positions itself correctly except you have 1/4 and 1/2 tones which can throw you off!.
If you were to rrmove the frets but keep the inlays, you could play guitar because the had position never changes, nor does the fingering for scales!.
Some violen players use side markers to facilitate the positioning and once they get to learn the scales, they may use these markers as reference point just like the guitar which has 2 inlays at the 12th fret!. It acts as a reference point!.
By the way, the violin does have suck marking on the side of the neck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No frets, its a flat fingerboard, so getting the correct pitch is a challenge, have a look when you are next in a music shop!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
