Which type has the best range and tone and is more applicable to a wider variety of musical styles!. Is the fingering for a flute the same as a sax, an oboe, a clarinet!? It is regarded as an easier instrument but this reputation is not deserved!. Some instruments, like the trumpet are naturally harder to play, the flute is not as hard as this and most people could start off pretty well but playing the flute well is a lot more difficult!. It is, however considered to be one of the easier instruments t play!. There is only one type of flute and it plays at concert pitch!. The piccolo is also a kind of flute (but not actually a flute, don't get confused) but it plays an exact octave above concert pitch, although it is transposed down an octave!. The flute's fingering is unlike any of the instruments you mentioned, they are in fact very different!. The closest fingering to the flute, i would say is the treble recorder!. The fingering for the first octave, apart from F is all very similar!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I can't answer to the entire Q but being a wind instrument it takes that disipline to be proficient at it, plus the eye/hand, the total involvement as does any other!. It may not be at all like the exercises involved in a stringed instrument, but the process is similar in wrapping ones mind around what it takes to make the music sound as it should!. There are a lot of types of flutes ranging from bass all the way up to fife, and all sound different!. Alto flutes have always been my favourite to play, but their sound is so low that they're used in flute-only groups so they aren't covered up!. When I'm playing with other instruments I prefer piccolo!.!.!.which is still a challenge to play after 6 years!.Www@QuestionHome@Com ive been playing the flute for about 3 years and i am in my high school marching band!. flutes are hard to hold out long notes on because most of you air goes over the hole and doesn't make an sound!. it is easy when you get used to it but can be hard at first!. however the flute is hav hardest instrument to tune!. you can be perfect one moment but sharp the next!. This is because when you put your mouth in a different position it can change the sound!. you should try and learn to play the flute!.
