Question: Want to learn how to play guitar!?
What's the best way to learn!? Somebody told me that I can just get one and start teaching myself with books and stuff!. I've been playing the flute for 11 years, can play any type of thing, I play the piano by ear, and I've been itching for a guitar for the past 3 years but never knew how to go about it!. I just picked one up and figured out a tune on my own but couldn't get the rest of the notes one day!. Been wanting to play ever since!. I didn't want to be wasting my money without getting lessons!. but I just found out u can really teach yourself thru books and stuff!. What should I do!? I'm a college student and want to learn to play!. I'm from a small town so I know it'll be hard to find someone to teach me, so what's the other way to go about it, and what should I expect when I actually start!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

This site for me has been really useful and has many resources!. I like it because of all of the videos, and video categories!. Plus it has a search function!.

It has everything with tags for "guitar" which make it easier finding guitar related material unlike other video sites like youtube!.

On http://www!.tubestreamer!.com you can find everything from the most basic of beginner videos, to advanced stuff, guitar reviews, amp reviews and more!. I found this site a while back and have been visiting it every day since then!. I go there to learn to play songs, get equipment reviews, and also to vote!.

http://www!.tubestreamer!.com sponsers someone off of youtube each week and posts them as the "weekly streamer"

This is kindof cool and gives people a change to make it off the youtube site and onto other pages as well!.

I noticed when I first started going to http://www!.tubestreamer!.com a few weeks ago, that there were changes being made to the page every day!. I think the site is fairly new, but again has given me answers to most all of the questions I had that were guitar related!. If you don't see something you are looking for, just use the search!.

Some Main things on http://www!.tubestreamer!.com

1!. Acoustic covers and tutorials
2!. Guitar Lessons
3!. Tabs / Covers / Lessons / Workships

I have sent an email to the admin and got a fast personal response as well!. (Which is a good thing)

Something I really like to see!.!.!.!. Great page with great guitar content, of which most of the time has had exactly what I am looking for and more!.

I noticed there is also a new section that is a web forum area, and rumored a classifieds posting section for guitars and equpt coming soon!.

On the email reply I received from http://www!.tubestreamer!.com

I was told that there would also be another place added soon for everyone to upload their own guitar videos and tutorials!. I found out it will be the "sister" site of tubestreamer!.com and the domain is called youstreamer!.com

Definatly a website worth bookmarking in my browser, and hopefully it will be as much help to you!. It is web pages like this I think that really help out by keeping so much information in one place!. Thank you TubeStreamer!.com !

Sorry to sound like I am boasting this site, but I love it, and it has shown me a lot of new things and I have learned to play a lot of new songs this way!. Seeing a video is much easier to learn guitar!. (Even has some Piano stuff, and recording software stuff as well)

The newest areas added are the forum and blog, and though it doesn't appear that many people have signed up on it yet, I am sure it will not take too long for this site to take off!.!.!.Let's give some support to a great site showing dedication to bringing us great video information for free!

Well, you already have musical talent!. Here's what I did!.!.!.I got a chord book, and I learned G, C, and D!. Then, I wrote a song!. Several, actually!. As time went on, I learned more chords, and eventually became a singer-songwriter who never made the big time!

But along the way I had a TON of fun, met great people, and made a lot of money!.

So!.!.!.skip the lessons!. If you have a singing voice, learn enough chords to sing a song!. Forget fancy leads for now; that will come with time and experience!. The more you play with others, the better you will become!.

Guitar is easy - unlike a piano, you can carry it wherever you want to go! Chords are chords; it's up to you and your voice to add the "nuance" you want to convey!. Finger-picking is lovely, too - try thumb bass (E and A string) and forefinger, middlefinger, and ring finger on the mid strings!. Experiment!. Enjoy!. And get a Takimine (great low to mid-priced guitar, acoustic/electric is the way to go in the beginning - you can play outside, or with an amp) or something like it!. It's great to play unplugged, or plugged!.

Buy a chord book!. Put three or four chords together (chord progression)!. Write a song!. Sing it!. You'll be hooked!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all!. Stay away from tabs! Memorizing tabs does not mean you can play the guitar!. The best way to learn how to play a guitar is by learning the notes and how to read music!. This shouldn't be difficult for you because you already play a few other instruments!. I had never read music in my life when I began to learn how to play the guitar, but as I was told by my instructor, it's better to learn how to read music instead of memorize tabs!. This way you can play anything! You won't be limited to the tabs you memorized!. Where's the skill in that, anyway!? Now, continuing!.!.!.

I wanted to learn how to play a guitar for almost a year before I decided to take lessons!. Fortunately, my high school provides a guitar class (beginner and 2nd level guitar classes)!. Since its my senior year, there are only two courses I really need to take!. So I decided to add some extras to help boost my GPA!. One of the courses I added was beginner's guitar!. Over the summer, I wanted to purchase a guitar and teach myself before taking the class!. I had never picked up a guitar before and I didn't want to enter that class with no idea how to even hold one, you know!? So it's been almost four weeks now of taking this guitar class and I have already come a long way!. My instructor told me that he would prefer that all of his students be beginners and entirely new to guitars because people who have self taught themselves learn bad habits, which are often difficult for an instructor to break!. I would suggest looking for a guitar instructor in your area!. There is bound to be someone who could professionally teach you, you just don't know how or where to look!. I would recommend a guitar instructor because suppose you are like so many others who try to teach themselves how to play, and end up teaching themselves the wrong way!? And yes, there are wrong ways to play a guitar!. Personally, it's easier and more motivating when you have an instructor telling you what to do, pointing out your mistakes, and making you play an entire song that you'd never tried playing before just so that you don't give up just because you think you can't do it when you actually can if you take it one step at a time!. I've been taking this guitar class and my instructor has been amazing!. What I couldn't do a week ago, I can do easily now!. I still play slow and I still mess up, but I can definitely see my improvements!. also, as my instructor says, practice hard, not hardly! Guitar definitely takes devotion if you want to learn quick and effectively!. Practice what you've learned every day for at least 30 minutes a day!. I practice longer than that on most days, because I really enjoy mastering complicated music (well!.!.!. complicated to me, at least), but do this and you're garaunteed success! :) Hope your search goes well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
