Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
4/4 time signature!.!.!.!.

Most frequent time signatures:
Simple time signatures
4/4 (quadruple) common time: widely used in most forms of Western classical and popular music!. Most common time signature in rock, blues, country, funk, and pop[2]
2/2 (duple) alla breve, cut time: used for marches and fast orchestral music!. Frequently occurs in musical theater!. Sometimes called "in 2"!.
4/2 (quadruple) common in early music; rarer since 1600, although Brahms and other composers used it occasionally!.
2/4 (duple) used for polkas or marches
3/4 (triple) used for waltzes, minuets, scherzi, and country & western ballads!.
3/8 (triple) also used for the above, but usually suggests higher tempo or shorter hypermeter!.
Compound time signatures
6/8 (duple) double jigs, polkas, fast obscure waltzes, marches and some rock music!.
9/8 (triple) "compound triple time", used in triple ("slip") jigs, otherwise occurring rarely (The Ride of the Valkyries is a familiar example)
12/8 (quadruple) classical music; also common in slower blues, doo-wop and stripper music; also used more recently in rock music!.

Abby's theory explanation of signatures was good, most informative!. You should print and keep it in a file for quick reference!.

Strumming is done several ways!. In 4/4 time, a common approach would be to strike the fundamental note (the bass) of a chord first, then, on the second beat, strum downward!. Simply repeat the process for the complete 4/4 measure!.

In 3/4 time, strike the fundamental tone of the chord and then strum downward twice!.

Upward strumming during the process adds color to the chord so you may wish to work on that technique too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should strum even while you are changing the chord , that means you should hit the strings when your fingers aren't holding a chord but are blocking the strings to avoid unwanted sounds to come out!.

You should strum with your right hand with the same pattern , and not pause while changing the chords!.

I hope i could explain!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
