Question: I am going to an opera for one of my classes, what should I wear!?

Its at the Philadelphia Academy of music, I have never gone to an opera before and I have no idea what I am supposed to wear to it!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

If its a daytime matinee, usually more casual dress is accepted!. By casual, I dont mean jeans and a T-Shirt! Dress slacks, nice sweater, or shirt and tie!. For an evening or weekend night time performance, usually suit and tie is the appropriate dress!. You might also check with your school teacher for the appropriate attire for this particular event!.

Opera is usually a formal affair so if not a tux then at least a suit!. You should wear a tie!. But ring the Philadelphia Academy of Music and ask their opinion!. They're putting it on so should set the dress code!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
