Question: Electric or acoustic for beginner guitar!?
Which is better for a beginner who is interested in rock music!? I'm leaning more towards acoustic but what would you recommend!? also who are some really good acoustic and electric guitarists!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
its always recommended to start with a nylon stringed acoustic
even if you want to play electric, u can buy an electric later once u get good, but an acoustic helps develop finger strength faster than an electric
i started playing a couple years ago, nd i bought an electric
but now, whenever i try an acoustic, it really hurts my fingers
plus!.!.!.m self-taught, so i STRONGLY recommend getting a teacher
cuz its really hard to do it by urself, as u can't correct ur mistakesWww@QuestionHome@Com

Get a nylon strung acoustic guitar rather than one with steel strings!. Acoustics are easier to play and with nylon strings your fingers won't get hurt (well!.!.!. not as much as with steel strings!)

Good acoustic guitarists are 1!. Django Reinhardt
http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Django_Rein!.!.!.
If he can play this well with 2 fingers then anyone should be able to play just as well with 5!

2!. He's not an acoustic player but plays electric very much like an acoustic player - Joe Pass http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Joe_Pass
You can learn a lot from him with his books!. I've got this one and it's amazing - http://www!.activemusician!.com/item--WB!.R!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Since you are leaning, go ahead!. Go to a store that sells guitar products as their primary sales!.
Select something in the $150 or more range!. Pick the best that you can afford!. Don't buy until you have compared several stores!.
Next sign up for lessons either class or private!. Learning on your own is dangerous, and definitely not the way to start!.
