Violin is the hardest instrument to play, because it is ask to do more than any other instrument!. It carries the melody almost all of the time!. It plays more notes in all most any given piece of music!. It frequently plays 16, or more notes in one beat!.
The violin requires the use of both left and right hand doing things that are totally different!. There are no guides on the violin to help with finger placement!.
These are the reasons most think the violin is the hardest!. Personally I find it easier than piano!. I just never got the hang of good piano playing!.

Hope this gives you some idea!.

I've played a lot of instruments, but would have to say upright bass (double-bass viol) is by far the toughest!. The physical demands are pretty tough because the strings are over 1/2 an inch from the fingerboard!. When you play the high notes, you have to use "thumb positions," which require you to learn an entirely different method of fingering!.

In addition, since this is a fretless instrument, you have to develop a good sense of ear-training to play in tune!. That's particularly hard because the low frequencies are hard to hear distinctly!. It is also much harder to initiate a good bow stroke because of the time-lag associated with getting the massive strings moving!.

Another barrier to playing well seems that bass music is either way easy or impossibly difficult, with very little real intermediate stuff!.

By contrast, electric bass guitar is much easier and more versatile!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, I'd say you are right on!.
Some of these others aren't quite right in the head, I think!. Recorder!?!. French Horn!? NAH!

The guy who said piano is not technically difficult probably has never tried to play a piano!. I'm a former professional musician and have played guitar for 40 years!. I also play drums, keyboards, bass and sing!.
The drums are hard for people with no rhythm, but a good drummer has no problem with that part of it!. Good drumming does take a great amouont of skill!.
I'd put drums 3rd in the list, with Bass right with it!. Good bass technique involves great rhythm and concentration with great knowledge of scale runs!.

Guitar is easy compared to playing any of those!. I should know!
I can play keyboards pretty well, but but me on a piano and I'm screwed!

The piano involves the ability of the player to use left and right hands in completely separated and independent ways!.
to be able to play a left hand rhythm and a right hand melody, while keeping in time and adding highlights or softness at the same time had got to be the hardest thing for anybody to do!.
Although I suppose if you are good at the piano, you'd probably wonder what all the fuss is about!. LOL

I would say the bass, though the fingering becomes easy, trying to make the sounds that you hear on songs that you like(technique) is very hard plus pushing cdown those strings are hard too!. Drums is my second i guess cause i play the drums!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I heard the drums are pretty hard to play!. If your talking about complete mastery (technical wise, and physical) then I would say guitar!. Piano can be tough too just not as hard technically!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
