Question: Starting cello lessons but I play viola!?
I'm starting cello lessons next Friday so I went to check out what the open string note looked like and its a third finger on the viola and its just so confusing!.

My goal is to be able to play Ave Maria by Schubert within a few months!.
I really love this piece and I'm very determined to learn it but wouldn't it be difficult because the viola notes and cello notes aren't really the same!.!.!.

This is optional but do you know if there are any Ave Maria solo theme music sheets by Schubert for violas!?!?
I've been looking everywhere and I just can't find it!.

By the way, I'm thirteen and I'm not some adult genius!. Okay!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you are serious and as intelligent as you seem!. You will surprise yourself at how quick you will be able to adapt!.
There is a new Clef, but that should not be a problem!. This will help eliminate the confusion of fingerings!.
If you can do the Ave Maria on Viola now, you should be able to do it on cello in a few months with lessons!.
Without lessons I would say no!.
