Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: This question is a little tricky because your question is a bit misleading!. Are you asking where Middle C actually sounds on the guitar, or where it's written!? If you are asking where it sounds, then you can find it on 2/1 Second string, first fret 3/5 Third String, fifth fret 4/10 Fourth string, Tenth Fret 5/15 Fifth String, Fifteenth Fret 6/20 Sixth String, Twentieth Fret (not accessible on some nylon sring, classical style guitars) If you are asking what note you would actually play when a middle C is written in Guitar score (keeping in mind that the guitar actually sounds one octave lower than it is written - that is, it is a transposing instrument) If you see a middle C on a sheet of guitar music or write a middle C down yourself, you would go to the following places on the fingerboard / Fretboard 5/3 - Fifth String!. Third Fret 6/8 - Sixth String, Eighth Fret I hope that this helps!. Till ALL the Walls Fall Down!Www@QuestionHome@Com THE MIDDLE C is located on 5 out of 6 strings!. F = FRET 1F, 2nd string 3F, 3rd string 8F, 4th string 15F, 5th string 20F, 6th string Hope it helps!. also a writing tip: a guitarist will probably not have/want to play the C on the 15th fret, and will usually never have to play the one on the 20th!. Overall, try to keep the melodies for guitar in as isolated of a spot as possible!. (C3 to C6 is usually discouraged!.)
