1!. Work more on your basic drum rudiments like : Stroke rolls,
Buzz rolls, Paradiddles and double paradiddles, flams and etc!.
If you have these things down!.!.!.you do more creative fills & solos by knowing these things!.

2!. Work on your footwork by duplicating what your hands do on the snare!. Meaning!.!.!.if you are doing a 5 Stroke roll with your hands on the snare!.!.!.do THAT SAME 5 Stroke roll with both legs if you have double bass drums!. This builds your ankle strength, and legs!. You can aslo do it with a Hi-Hat and 1 single Bass Drum too!.

3!. Work on seperating your groove patterns like Jazz drummers do!. Meaning!.!.!.if you are doing a Paradiddle with your hands on the Snare & Ride Cymbal!.!.!.!.do a seperate 32nd note double bass groove to make it sound fresh & lively!. You have to experiment more with using weird patterns to keep the spice in your drumming fresh!.

4!. Every once in while!.!.!.!.just drop the sheet music!. Walk away from it!.!.!.and totally blow it off!. And just play drums!.!.!.just play some new beats your heard recently that you wanna try out!. Don't worry about being perfect!.!.!.just play! Routines do & CAN get boring sometimes!.!.!.and you just need that spontaneity to overcome the boredom in drumming sometimes!.

5!. Akways seek out new drumming styles!. My main foundation is rock & metal drumming!. But I did not limit myself to just that genre only!. I also picked up some Jazz, some Salsa, some Meringue, some Techno, some Pop, some Funk, some Industrial, some Punk, some Ska, and etc!. You need all those others drumming styles to help alleviate the boredom sometimes!.!.!.!.

The best way to learn drums is to just listen to bands that appeal to you, isolate your hearing to focus in on what the drummer is doing, and just try to get a feel for it!. I've never cared much for tabs!.!.!.But really the best thing i can tell you is to just listen to what other drummers do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
