Hi there!

Often a nasal sound can be caused by raising the soft palate too high!. It is very difficult to get rid of this sound if you have been singing this way for years, but there are exercises to help!. First when you are warming up focus on where you are placing your sound!. If it is in the back of your throat that is incorrect!. Thing of a tall narrow sound escaping out of the top of your head!. Keep your jaw relaxed and you can even put your hands on your jaw while you sing to keep it open!.

You say that it is only a problem on your Ah and Eh vowels!? Have you tried isolating the transition from a long "a" vowel to the "eh" vowel!? Try making the transition very fluid and keep the same space and sound!. If you can figure out how to keep your voice the same then you will fix your problem!.

If you are taking voice at a university your teacher should be resolving this issue with you!.

You might be putting too much vibration into the "mask" on your face behind your nose and up to your forehead!. Try singing without it, if you're using it!. also, try an antihistamine -- Claritin, Benadryl, whatever won't make you too sleepy!. You could also try http://www!.himalayaninstitute!.org/Netipo!.!.!.

A lot of singers swear by it!. I used it once, pretty intense, I have to warn you!. But some singers love it!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
