Practising is a very personal thing, no one else can do it but you! Becoming good at practise takes time, just like getting better at playing piano!. Some tips for practise are to practise things SLOWLY, seperate hands, take a tricky rhythm and just play the rhythm on one note untill you have got it, then put it with the notes again, if you strugle with musicality then think of a story to go with the piece you are learning, sing to yourself how you want the phrase structure to go!. As for not practising for a week, it happens, remember you still have untill tomorrow and up untill your lesson to get in some quick scales, and you can practise in your head rhythms and phrases, and honestly your teacher may seem a little grumpy when they work out that you havent pracitse, but the truth is they don't really mind altogether to much because they are still getting paid!. Remember you are not only wasting your teachers time when you don't practise but also your money as you won't get as much out of a lesson!. I don't really have a practicing schedule, but when I have a concert or recital, I usually go on weekly or bi-weekly practicing binges, when I'll practice for one night for several hours!. I find that practicing doesn't effect your memorization unless you practice the day before!. Day-of practicing is not effective at all for memory!.Www@QuestionHome@Com well really depends do you love the piano or hate it!? if you love it you need to pratice as just as you want beacuse if you are in a consert and u are responsible then you will do just fine but if you dont like it 1h and 30 minutes one hour to try to go though the hole song without stopping the the other is to pratice that song or do anothere song from yesterday if you finished learning that song!.
