Question: How do I clean out my saxophone!? !?
Okay, so the last time I played my saxophone was a few months ago!. But I remember that I didn't have time to clean it out after band practice, so the spit must have built up!.!.!. gross, I know!. How clean it now!? What would you suggest!? I hope there's no bacteria build up or anything, but there probably will be =/ Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi JG

Yes, you can use a dampened sponge with lukewarm water and perhaps just a squirt of windex in the water for disinfectant!. You must be sure to squeeze every bit of water from the sponge!. You cannot get the pads (made of leather) the slightest bit wet!.!.!. so squeeze and then squeeze again!. After you clean out your instrument, you might want to set it upright in a well ventilated area to air out!.!.!. perhaps in the shade under a tree!. also, if your horn is yucky!.!.!. so is the case!. Vacuum it out and spray it lightly with Lysol or Fabreeze then also let it air out but in the sun to remove any odors!. Don't allow it to set out over night!.

Hope that helps!.
