I've never played it, but it has 234 reviews on Musician's Friend (which i'd recommend over Guitar Center if you're ordering online), with average of nearly 5/5 in all categories!.

The ratings, the low cost ($200), and the fact that you want a V guitar make it a pretty good beginner guitar for you!. The only other decent option for an inexpensive V is Epiphone's, but it's considerably more ($400-500) and probably not much/any better than the Dean!.

On a side-note, most guitarists recognize "intermediate" level as somebody who's been playing 2-4 years!. By anyone's measure, 2 weeks of playing puts you solidly in the beginner category ;)

Anyhow, if you have doubts about the guitar, find a shop that carries it and sit down and play it for a couple hours!. See if it's really a good fit for you!.
This is ESPECIALLY important if you've never played a V before!. Personally I don't like them, because it's a pain to play while sitting down (which I do far more than standing up)!.

If you find you like V's, this is almost certainly the guitar for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

2 weeks and you can play the whole song of welcome to the jungle!?

I'm calling your bluff first off no one can do that if they only have been playing guitar for two weeks!.

gibson flying V sucks!. Horrible quality control on their cheaper models!.
2 weeks and you want to spend 900 dollars on a guitar!? crazy!

any starter guitar will do you fine
Deans are okay, I don't like them, but it'll workWww@QuestionHome@Com
