I haven't seen the Vyper before just recently and have not tried it out!.
However I actually own the spyder III 15 because it beat out every other amp in the store as far as a practice amp goes for sound and features!.
It beat out amps that cost more and had more effects, but they couldn't combine together like the Spyder could!. I liked it better than the Marshall, Fender and Roland practice amps!.

The biggest drawback to the spyder is not having a footswitch to switch channels!. It makes it hard to switch from rhythm to lead while playing!. You actually have to go up to the amp and hit the channel button!.

Peavey amps are usually pretty good!. I used the Bandit 112 onstage and it worked very nicely and had good overdrive parameters!.
I looked on the Peavey site to see if the vyper 15 had a footswitch,
And it looks like it does not either!.

But I'd think either one would be good for you, depending on what type of music you play!.
The Spyder does have a pretty insane metal drive, called "insane" LOL that really screams!. the Metal setting is just slightly less wild!. Then there's a Crunch channel that you can get to sound kind of like a master volume type distortion!.

I went with the spyder myself, but I didn't have the peavey to compare it to at the time!.

I know that may not completely answer your question!. But you have 2 pretty good choices there I'd say!. You probably would like either one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
