Question: Acoustic or Electric guitar for a beginner!?
what is best for a beginner!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The reason you should start on acoustic is to learn mechanics and build strength!. If you are wanting to be a serious player you should start on an acoustic!. You can learn and play any style on an acoustic!. You will get stronger more quickly!. You will also build speed!. The key is to get off to the right start!. Learn chords scales and finger exercises!. Every experienced guitar player SHOULD be able to play any song they know on an acoustic and make it sound good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

people swear by an acoustic, but it's not always the best way to go!. The good thing about acoustic is that you can practice everywhere, but now with new pocket sized amps, you can do the same with electric!. IF you're looking to play stuff like punkrock or metal or emo indie stuff, you're probably better off jumping onto an electric because you'll be exposed to it right away!. You'll get used to the feel!. That's what I did!. IF you're looking to play some country/ americana stuff though, go with the acoustic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

While I will probably get a few thumbs down for this, but I say electric!. First off, they are easier to play with more finger action!. Second, you can do and learn more on an electric and you can on acoustic or if you just want to play chords then the acoustic will be great for you, but if you want to learn how to bend the strings or finger tap, or even play faster solos then the electric is the one for you!. It really all comes down to that type of music you want to play!.!. I have been playing for 22 years, I started on an electric fan applied my playing to the acoustic!. Just make sure you practice and Good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com

I'd strongly recommend disregarding any direct answers to this question!. It's a matter of preference alone!.

Neither the electric nor the acoustic guitar is inherently better for a beginner!.

Instead, the decision should be based on two things:
1) The styles of music you want to play!. If you're not sure which type of guitar is better suited for your preferred styles of music, make a list of 10-20 songs you like!. Give this list to a friend who plays guitar, or post it here, and find out what type of guitar is better suited!.

2) Your initial budget!. An electric setup will typically cost slightly more to start!. To give you an idea (using my typical beginner recommendations): $150-200 for a decent ibanez, epiphone, or squire electric starter pack, for example, vs!. $79 for an acoustic Rogue RA-100D or Jasmine by Takamine S35!.

Hope this helps!. And here are some recommendations of excellent beginner guitars:

An electric guitar is easier to play for a beginner, because the neck is smaller!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm a beginner and I have been told by many experienced players to start with an acoustic!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
