My bass drum pedal's mallet springs back and hurts my feet?

Question: My bass drum pedal's mallet springs back and hurts my feet!?

My bass pedal is non-adjustable and the mallet always springs back and hits my foot and it hurts!.

Does anyone else have this problem!? Any tips!?

that happens to me when i hit the bass too hard!.

try not to hit the pedal and the bass drum too hard!. a soft hit will sound almost the same and wont touch your feet!.
