Question: Is marching band worth doing!?
Hey!. I am an incoming freshmen, and I was wondering if marching band was worth doing!. I am already in orchestra, but due to schedule conflicts, I cannot do concert band, so I will just be one of those "outsiders" who do marching band without concert band!. Its about 35 hours a week, and I am really scared to do it, because I am already super busy, and I plan to get busier!. Will I still fit into marching band!? Will I regret it!? Will it be the time of my life!? Hopefully, you have an idea!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i would have regretted not doing band!.
you mentioned that you are already busy, well, band is a very demanding activity!. we practice from 7am-8pm and we practice everyday but wednesday, friday, and sunday!.
if you are already busy, you will have to make time for band!. if you miss just ONE practice, you will be so far behind!. so if you do decide to do band, it's possible you'll have to quit what ever other busy activity you already do!.

to me, band is my life!. it makes up my life, pretty much!.
i'm so glad i'm doing it!. this is my second year and i love every minute of it!. i wouldn't trade it for the world!. but once again, it really is something that needs to be #1 on your top priority list!.

it's not too hard to learn all the fundamentles and etc!. just remember to practice the music, and once you learn drill, you will be able to march & play with some practice!.

goodluck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Marching band is one of the greatest things I have ever done in my life!. You will meet so many great people and the feeling you get when you perform is just amazing!. But don't think it's not a lot of work!. At my school, we practice before school every morning at 6:45 AM!. We have night practice once a week and perform at football games and competitions throughout the season!. But one of the things I love about marching band is they are willing to work WITH you and your busy schedule!. Band directors are used to having students who have many different activities going at once!. I myself run cross-country and play in the marching band!. You CAN do it, but you have to be organized!.
I hope you do decided to do marching band!. It's SO much fun and well worth the effort!. If anything, I would advise that you try marching band this year and re-evaluate next year if you find that it was too much stress!. My freshman year I did so many activities, and now going into my sophmore year, I'm beginning to eliminate the ones I didn't really like!. Take this year as an opportunity to try everything!
Hope things turn out right!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it's really up to you!. I hated marching band!. It is taken very seriously at my school and it almost felt like I was doing ROTC, not band!. I don't think you would be an "outsider" if you only did marching band!. Most people like marching band more than concert band, it seems!.

It does sound very time consuming, but it could also be the time of your life!. I would definatly take into consideration how much time it takes!. You don't want to stress yourself out!

Maybe you could write a pros and cons list to help make your decision :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

it's pretty fun, but it can take up a lot of your time!. i just finished going through marching camp, two weeks, 8am - 5pm!. it requires a lot of physical strength to do the slides, where your feet move towards the goal posts, but your shoulders stay facing the sidelines!. since you are going to be a freshman, you will probably have to practice steps outside of practice, as very few freshmen are perfect at marching!. in fact, few veterans are perfect at marching, as well!. but in all, you spend a lot of time with the people in band, so if you don't like them, don't do it!. think ahead to the long bus rides filled with tired bandies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Marching band was the best 6 years of my life i started in 7th grade and did it all the way until graduation, developed some great friends i still hang with today, senior year i had a scheduling conflict with classes and didn't take concert band my senior year, and i was one of those "outsiders"and i was welcomed with open arms!. i got with the band director and he allowed me to do marching band, its more learning music on ur own but i was glad i did it!. hi!. I'm in band!. I'm a sophomore!. i think ive wasted a life time in band and its only been a year!. don't join band is ******** bad!. that's only if you don't want to make a bunch of friends that will be your band brothers and sisters who will incidentally go out with each other and its like doing your band brother or sister!.

do band if you have nothing better to do!.
it looks really good on college applications!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
