Well, I've been playing since I was seven or eight, and I'm 28 now, and still learning new things all the time, still developing skills through practice, and still looking up to people who know more about it than I!. In all seriousness, you can expect to be able to play a few simple things within a few weeks!. But it takes a lifetime to learn the whole guitar!.

Maybe even two!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It took me about three months of constant practice and research before I was playing decent Country, Rock, and Blues!. I had gone beyond the capabilities of the fellow showing me the 11 chords that got me started!.

I will be celebrating my 52nd year of playing the 16th of this month (August)!.

I waited four years before moving to the electric guitar--partly because I had just enlisted in the U!.S!. Army and had to remain mobile!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I didn't take me long at least six sessions of lessons and i knew all the basic notes and accidentals were simple but chords you have to work on for a bit and that just depends on how much practice you do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
