There are pros and cons to each!. Sometimes people find acoustics a little harder to play (greater string tension and thicker strings)!. The positive is that if you switch to electric later, it will feel easier to play!. It also doesn't need an amp!.
What should really matter is if you think one will make you happier, leading you to stick with it!. When you imagine yourself with a guitar, what kind is it!? Does the kind of music you like feature electric more often or acoustic!? Don't go too cheap when buying your first guitar!. A lot (not all) of cheap guitars have problems that make it harder to play!. Peavey makes some decent electric guitars for the price!. Seagull (made by Godin) is also a pretty good deal for acoustics!. Good luck and have fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

As a beginner I would always recommend an acoustic!. Doing that you are not sidetracked by electronic problems and sound and can fully concentrate on the instrument!. also it is always available to pick up when you have a minute or two to spare rather than having to set it up!. Good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com

it really just matters whats more comfortable for you!.
the type of guitar isnt your only concern you should know whether you want a skinny or fat neck, steel or nylon strings, that sorta thing!.
i got an accoustic classical guitar with nylon strings, and it has a really wide neck, but now im thinking i shouldve gotten just a regular 'ol steel stringed accoustic with a sknnier neck because its hard to do bar chords with such a big neck!.
you should just borrow someones guitar and learn how to do some stuff on it first until you know more about guitars to make a decision on what kind you want!.
well i hope this helped!!!!!!
good luck and rock on!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
