I would take guitar lessons, but my mother can't really afford it at the moment!. She is very supportive of me learning how to play the instrument, but I don't know how!. All I did was learn how to read tabs and chord charts!. After that, you can go to a tab site and look up just about any song you want to learn!. The best one is ultimate-guitar!.com!. Yes, you need the hyphen lol!. It's a really good book full of simple instructions, lots of pictures, and diagrams to help you!. It all goes in order so you won't get confused but let me suggest something: When you reach the second page and get to the Music Fundamentals via Reading Music section, click on the link provided but start with the Understanding Rhythm on Guitar section FIRST (it's at the bottom of the page)!. They have a whole lesson database that u can search plus they give free tabs which teach u songs 4 free! Another is www!.guitarconsultant!.com!. You could also ask you teacher for hand-outs for the basics!.
