What everyone else said is correct!.!.!.it's a binded book of clear plastic sheets that you slip your music in!. You can get them at music stores or online!. Unfortunately you can't really make one!. They usually come with rings that you can open and close, but from experience I know that the rings open when you march!. :) So you may want to get key rings from key chains because they cannot open!. :)
After you get that you may want to put it on a shoe string so you can wear it around your neck for easy access while learning!.
You're also going to want a lyre!. EVERY instrument can use a lyre!.!.!.even the flute!. For the flute it's a band that goes around your arm and you look off of it that way!. I only use the lyre for stand charts!. While marching I keep the book around my neck on the show string!.
Good luck and don't worry!.!.!.also don't be afraid to ask your upperclassmen for help!. They may seem annoyed at first, but seriously they are there for you and they'll probably be happy to help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A flip book, also called a music folio, is a little book-like thing with clear slots that you insert your music into, so it holds the music and you can see it!. And, when there is more than one page, just flip the page and it will turn to the next page of the song, or the next song!. They go onto lyres!. There are different lyres for every type of instrument, so if you don't already have one, make sure you get one for the type of instrument you play!. And also, if you really couldn't find one, you could just punch holes in the pages and put rings on them and glue the back to cardboard, if you wanted to save some money, but you'd still need a lyre!. Hope this helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A flip folder is a little book you attach to your instrument by use of a lyre, which is a little clip that can hold a book!.

Here's one for $3!.85:

If you're not sure what to get, ask your band instructor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A flip book is a "book" made up of protective plastic sleeves that you put your marching band music in (if you play trumpet, tuba, etc!.) The flute can't hold a flip book unfortunately!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
