yep, in that way you will think "more" on the subject of the poem rather than keeping you're mind idle; Idleness can make a person wander his/her mind to diff subjects and when they are disturb, they'll dissolve quickly!.!.=)

did you know that you can "SIN" by being idle!?(",) just learn this from my religion class awhile ago!.!.=)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Poetry in preference to idleness!?

How about poetry in preference to banality, mindlessness, depression, ennui, a life of waste, dithering, frittering, lethargy, sloth, obesity, greyness, dullness, absence of fun, lack of vim, get up and gone, laziness, moral turpitude, physical decay, intellectual inertia, mental malaise or just simply death!?

Don't stop at poetry in words though, go for some poetry in motion such as exercise and sport, meeting new people and trying new things!.

The idea of sin presupposes that there is a definition of what it is right and wrong to do with your time!. There isn't in actual fact any such list but with all the fun there is to be had by being active it seems rather pointless to be idle in my opinion!.

Keep reading those poems but why not try reading or reciting them in public!? Or at a poetry/literature group!? You could end up with a whole new circle of friends!.Or even a whole new life!. What have you got to lose but your boredom!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am an actor who is in a job and environment where I can't be in any plays at the present, so I have a small book of poems that I keep with me when I drive and I memorize a play every so often just to keep my memory "muscle" in shape!. If you don't memorize something like a role for a few years, the whole process of going about memorizing a role becomes more difficult later when faced with the task!. also, there may be times when someone is called on for a quick toast or comment on the ocassion!. In those instances, I have several poems at my disposal!. "The Raven" for Halloween, "God Save the Flag" and "Paul Revere's Ride" for July 4th, "Each in His Own Tongue," "The Day is Done," "The Fool's Prayer," " Abou Ben Adhem," and many more!. And it's not a waste of time or brainpowerWww@QuestionHome@Com

it depends on your intention on why you have to memorize a poem!. if it is for school purposes, it is not right to take an idle time!.!.!. lolz!. you should memorize it!. but if it is out of hobby, there's nothing wrong with it!. besides, it's being productive!. right!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
