Question: Do your fret fingers form permanent indentations from playing!?
I've been playing guitar for a little over 2 weeks now and have developed some decent callouses already!. I can play for hours before I start to feel some real pain in my fingertips!.

BUT, I have noticed that I have small indentations that remain on the tips of my fingers (esp!. my middle and ring fingers)!. Is this normal!? Or am I overplaying!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

everyone that has said that their fingers callous over are correct!. if you continue playing, the pads on your fingers begin to thicken even more and won't continue to hurt or have indentations!.

by the way, your guitar will break down before you will!. funny as that sounds it's true!. there really is no overplaying! have a great time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hey Jules

Don';t worry, theseindentations will disappear as well as the callouses!. You can practice 10 hours a day like I do in the studio and their is no danger!.
If your finger gets tired, you have to put your arms by your side and wiggle your hands afew seconds for circulation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have been playing guitar for 2 years and i have callouses, but they will go away if you stop playing!. The more you play the more they will harden and stop hurting!. Believe me they hurt so bad at first!. Don't push so hard on the frets if it hurts, but push hard enough so the chords sound clear!. Have fun!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

haha don't you worry, so long as they dont get infected!. make sure to wash them out!. back when i played bass in a funk band, i finished a show only to find that my bass and strings were covered in blood, and that my fingers had torn up!. i knew that they hurt, but i wasnt expecting that!Www@QuestionHome@Com
