Question: My guitar won't stay in tune!?!?
I got a Yamaha guitar yesterday, and spent an hour at home trying to get it in tune!. By the time I would get down to the last string, the first would be out of tune again! I don't think it is the tuner, because I also tried relative tuning!. Is there something I am doing wrong!?

Thanks!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

they are new strings, they will go out of tune very quicky!. the fastest way to get the to stay in tune loger is the strech the strings!. this means just tug them a bit (easy on the upper strings so they down break) for around a minute and then tune the string!. do this to all 6 then repeat!. try doing this for around 1/2 an hour and your strings shouldn't go out of tune as fast!. if you do this for the first few days within a week your strings will stay in tune for a long long time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

New Strings go out of tune really quickly!. Every time I restring my guitar tuning is a tedious process because as afore mentioned the newer strings go out of tune quicker!. Most likely because the strings still have more flex to them!. Its normal for it to move in and out of tune, especially if new!. If after a week the problem persists make sure your tuning knows are on securely and then if it still happens take it to the shop!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it could be a number of things: the screws in the tuner, weak neck, climate, new strings or the bridge!. first check out the bridge, make sure there is no damage to it!. check the tuner screws!. if they are all intact then its just the strings just break them in!. play em out of tune if you have to!. but they just need to be worn!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You know It might be the climet you live in!. In Dry climet the wood on you guitar might make you guitar un tune!.
If been playing guitar long enoth to know that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If it's brand new you probably just need to break the strings in!. Play for a while and they should stay in tune better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Bake the strings in hot oil for 20mins, tuning problems goneWww@QuestionHome@Com

if theyre new strings, expect them to be hard to stay in tune!. once theyre worn in a little, theyll stay better (:Www@QuestionHome@Com
