You can either do what 90%of the rest of us do, and sing in the shower, or you can get some voice lessons!. Or you can join a choir!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You need to be more confident in yourself!. Don't doubt yourself so much!. If it helps sometimes in the song close your eyes and imagine your by yourself and no one is around!. Maybe sing a song on camera by yourself and put it up, you never know what the response will be, again trust yourself, go with your gut feeling and what your heart is telling you!. It would be embarassing, I know what you feel, I had to sing acopella at my grandma's funeral and in front of people before she died, it could be worse!. Just try it! I hope this helped and good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all, the more you do it, the better you get!. The more you sing in front of people, the easier it gets!. I'm not saying you won't still be nervous, but you will get better at handling those nerves!.
Secondly, find a good voice teacher!. Private lessons will make all the difference in the world!.
Another thing that has helped me is to sing where the audience is in the dark- then I can't see them, so I don't feel the nervousness nearly as much!.
And remember- every musician has their own horror stories!. It's okay if things aren't perfect!. Everyone has their moments!. The important thing is that you are trying and learning about yourself!. And you are also sharing of yourself with others!. Keeping that focus instead of all on yourself and all the bad makes singing a much more joyful experience!. Happy singing!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why assume that people will tell you you're no good!? Maybe you'll sing and people will tell you you're terrific!

What I've discovered about performing for people is this -- 99% of the people in the audience WANT you to do well (and the 1% that don't are total jerks!. Ignore them!) They're NOT there to make fun of people or to tell them that they're no good -- they're there to listen to music, be entertained and have a good time!. They're prepared to enjoy what you're doing and cheer you on!.

Here's another thing: many -- if not most -- of the people in the audience WISH that they had the talent and the nerve to get up on that stage and sing or play an instrument -- but they don't, and so they're envious of you for having both the ability and the guts to get up there and do what they only dream of!. So they're on your side!. They're rooting for you, not looking for excuses to criticize!.

When I understood that, I mean really got it -- my stage fright basically disappeared!. Now when I get up in front of an audience, its usually like playing in my own livingroom -- calm, confident!.

also keep in mind that the physiological reactions that you interpret as fear or stage fright are exactly the same as excitement!. And that energy can help put a positive edge on your performance if you think of it as excitement (positive energy that gives you a boost) rather than fear or shyness (negative energy which is debilitating and keeps you from doing what you want)!. So change how you think about that pre-show energy!. its not fear, its excitement!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I love to sing to!. I only sing in front of certain people!. I mean, I can't sing in front of people I get to shy!. But when worst comes to worst, sing in front of your friends in a suprise!. Like, if they start to sing!.!.!. Don't feel shy in front of them!. Dude they're you're friends weather you can sing or not, or if they don't like how you sing!. I am not trying to make this sound mean, but that is what I'd do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
