Head down to your local music store and ask what type of electric guitar you should use, then you can try it out (and other types, until you find the right one)!.

Lessons are-hands down-the BEST option to choose to learn guitar (and any other instrument)!. You can use books and a good website (cyberfet!.com) as references or "second teachers!."

The only thing about lessons though is that finding a good teacher is hard to come by!. But, if your local music store offers lessons (majority do), they're competent (hopefully)!. I suggest private one-on-one lessons instead of small group lessons, that way you'll get all attention focused on you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

http://www!.guitarcenter!.com/Squier-by-Fe!.!.!.

Getting lessons is the best way to learn, but if you can't afford lessons buy a book, is better than internet!.
Maybe guitar for dummies!. It's a great book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Strats are a good starter guitar, or if you despise Strats for no discernible reason like me, a cheap Les Paul!.

And I learnt from a massive book with tons of pictures, with a little help from my cousin's friends!. But I'd recomend lessons, always having someone to tell you if you are doing it right is a good thing!.

Get a squier starter package!. it cost $250 and is pretty dam good for a starter!. if you can, try looking for an affinity series!.

it should come with a cd to get you started on some chords and stuff!. also, look on youtube and find out some stuff thereWww@QuestionHome@Com

Do NOT GET A SQUIER!!! get an epiphone package, they cost the same and have way better quality!.!.!. and as far as learning, do which ever fells best!.!.!. Reading, Internet, and Lessons work!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Get lessons - a warm body always wins over a book or a CD!.
Use those materials as supplemental resources only!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
