Question: Bass Pickup Question!?
Ok I ordered my ESP B-55 bass but i was going to change the pickups on it!. The only problem is I cant find any 5 string pickups that come in PJ style!. So my question is would it be possible to change them from like PJ to a soapbar and J pickups or just a different kind of set up of pickups or would it screw up the sound!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

EDIT: Nice bass your getting!.!.!. um!.!.!.why the pickup change!? Ive played this bass before!.!. sounds pretty good the way it is!.!.!.!. the Bartolini pickups would make this a GREAT bass though!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i personally don't like the sound of ESP basses or their electronics sorry, but to help you out, putting humbuckers in your bass would certainly drastically alter the sound, giving it a much fuller and thicker sound as opposed to the bottom end warmth and clarity of a precision pickup or the bright twang of a j pickup!. keep looking around, i know for a fact they make j style pickups for 5 string on musiciansfriend!.com and finding a p style should only be a matter of time!. worst comes to wrost, dont change emWww@QuestionHome@Com

hey, i got a 4 string bass that has jazz pickups, i replaced them with DIMARZIO ULTRA JAZZ pickups!. very nice!.

unfortunately, in your case, they only make the 5 string jazz style pickups, not the p-style!.

The neck model alone is the DP547!. The bridge model is the DP548, and the pair is model DP549!.

if you find a good p-style pickup somewhere you like, maybe you might wanna mix and match with this DP548 that should work on your bridge!. Good luck, have fun!. When i got my new pickups!.!.!. i just about wet my pants at the sound difference!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
